Denissa
- Teacher
Born and grew up in the U.S. to Romanian immigrant parents, Denissa has spent the past several years living in Romania before bringing her passion for Pilates to Zürich.
Her Pilates journey began in 2020, during her second year of university and the start of the pandemic, and what started as a personal interest quickly became an essential part of her life.
After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 2023, Denissa decided to turn that passion into a career. She was drawn to the classical Pilates method and deliberately sought out an education rooted in the original principles of Pilates, choosing Peak Pilates for its strong educational foundation and commitment to the classical approach.
Through her Peak Pilates training, Denissa developed her understanding of the classical Pilates system, including Mat work and apparatus such as the Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrels. Her education emphasizes the importance of technique, movement progression, and understanding each client’s individual needs.
For Denissa, becoming an instructor was about more than learning how to teach exercises. She wanted to deepen her own understanding of movement, continue growing as a practitioner, and build the knowledge needed to guide her future clients with confidence and care.
Her teaching style is warm, attentive, and encouraging, with an emphasis on proper technique, alignment, control, and mindful movement. She aims to create a welcoming environment where clients can challenge themselves while also feeling comfortable and at ease. Her goal is for every client to leave a session feeling both relaxed and energized — stronger in their body, clearer in their mind, and ready to take on the rest of their day.
Denissa believes that Pilates is a lifelong journey of learning and growth, and she is excited to share that passion with her clients in Zürich.
Beyond the studio, Denissa loves traveling/exploring new places, photography, and spending time with her two beloved furry companions: Heidi, her Bernese Mountain Dog, and Leia, her British Shorthair cat!
